Sona Masoori a.k.a “Pearls of South India”
A lightweight and slightly aromatic medium-grain rice grown largely in the Southern Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and Karnataka. It is an unpolished rice hence it is highly nutritious than any other rice. The texture is light and it has got a little sweet taste. It is starchy but has a rich flavour which makes it the perfect choice for South Indian Curries.
Sona Masoori
Take 1 cup of Sona Masoori rice and gently rinse it twice. For every cup of rice combine with 2 and a half cups of water and let it rest for 15 minutes. Gently stir the rice and cook on medium flame for 15 minutes until all the water has been fully absorbed. Remove from heat and serve. Note: If the cooked Rice is too hard, then use more water and if the same is too soft, use less water
